What is a HIAB?
A Hiab is more than just a manufacturer of cranes that operates on the back of a vehicle. HIAB has become a generic term for any form of lifting equipment fitted onboard a vehicle involved in transportation. Also known as heavy hiabs, truck mounted cranes, flat bed lorries with lifting arms, or just HIAB crane, HIAB lorries with mounted cranes are capable of transporting the heaviest and largest loads around.
Hiab has also lent its name to all forms of "Hiab "Hire" services; transport services that involve goods being self loaded and offloaded.
